DEUTZ is one of the first companies in the world to start manufacturing internal combustion engines. Founded in 1864 by Nikolaus Otto and Eugen Langen, DEUTZ played a key role in shaping the modern engine manufacturing industry. Over the years, the company has become a leading developer of environmentally friendly, efficient, and reliable engines for the mining, agricultural, construction, and industrial sectors.

Key Milestones in DEUTZ History
- 1867 — awarded a gold medal at the International Exhibition in Paris for the first internal combustion engine;
- 1879 — development of the first four-stroke engine, which became the prototype for modern gasoline engines;
- 1907 — Rudolf Diesel’s patent for a new type of engine that forever changed mechanical engineering;
- 1907–1912 — joint production of Deutz-Bugatti automobiles, a legendary project in the automotive industry;
- 1924 — launch of the first Deutz MTH 222 tractor, expanding the use of machinery in agriculture;
- 1972 — large-scale delivery of 10,000 dump trucks for the construction of the Baikal-Amur Mainline, a major infrastructure project in the USSR.
Currently, DEUTZ is expanding the production of modern diesel and gas power units with capacities ranging from 15 to 520 kW, fully compliant with environmental standards and market requirements.
