History of Volvo

The Swedish manufacturer traces its origins back to 1924, when it was founded in the city of Gothenburg. Just three years later, in 1927, the first mass-produced car — the OV4 model — rolled off the assembly line, marking the beginning of the brand’s journey in global automotive manufacturing.

Since then, the manufacturer has steadily expanded its product range and strengthened its presence in international markets. From passenger and sports cars, it progressed to producing buses, trucks, construction equipment, and power systems. Today, Volvo Group is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of heavy machinery and engineering solutions.
